Good Dinner Need Not Be Lavish

Oct 2007, San Jose.  Chef C. tagged along Yan's business trip to the U.S.  At the small hotel apartment with limited cooking utensils and ingredients, Chef C. had little to work with.  But that didn't matter.  She was as passionate about her cooking as she would have been in a properly equipped kitchen. Chef C. is an efficient cook.  She could whip up a feast within minutes, on time and on budget.  Spaghetti Aglio Olio, served with buttered brocolli, mashed potatoes, rocket leaves salad, pan-seared beef fillet, paired with a bottle of red wine from the Napa Valley.
