Creme Brulee and Tarts

There were no ramekins in the apartment.  Whisky glasses did the trick for me, and it turned out pretty well.  This picture shows my creme brulee before browning.  I picked up the recipe from the internet (http://www.allrecipes.com/), and it tasted just fine.  It's unbelievably easy to make - takes about 20 minutes from start to finish.  A rather good way to impress your guests.  Like chicken rice, one can't fault a good serving of creme brulee for dessert. A safe bet when one isn't sure of how to end a wonderful dinner meal.

The same cannot be said of the egg tarts here.  I can only describe this "experimental baking".  As impressive as they may appear, these tarts were a dissappointment. The crust was heavy in texture, and the egg custard didn't taste right.  I am still looking for a good egg tart recipe. Any recommendation?

There is a coffee shop (Nam Heong) in Ipoh offers wonderful portugese egg tarts. You should go and sample some of them. You may have tasted before. The coffee shop is situated at the old section of the Ipoh city.
