There is a small noodle bar at Orchard Plaza that few Singaporeans would know of. Tucked in a narrow corner on the ground floor of a building full of dodgy Karaoke bars and shops offering foot reflexology services, Ken's Noodle House is a real treat, away from those ubiquitious Sushi restaurant chain. It serves probably the best Ramen in town. Customers here are mostly Japanese, and it does have the vibe of an authentic Japanese noodle house. Whilst the menu is basic and as unassuming as its interior, a meal at Ken's is as satisfying as it is light on your pocket.
Do try Ken's "Char Siew Ramen" - those springy hand-made Ramen in a special Miso soup mix will surely make you clamour for more.
Then, there is an interesting dish served in a bowl consisting of sushi rice, marinated fish roe, preserved bamboo shoot and seaweed - mix the concoction together, wrap it with the seaweed paper and enjoy. It's simply mouth-watering!
